Oceans and Coasts

Details

Coastal and marine ecosystems protect communities from ocean risks like storm surge, sequester carbon, support biodiversity, and underpin blue economy sectors. Globally, these ecosystems are under threat. Governments, the private sector, and civil society must partner to drive investment into regenerating ocean natural capital and building resilient coastal communities. This will require developing innovative financial products, particularly for Small Island Developing States (SIDS) and coastal Least Developed Countries (LDCs), to scale conservation and restoration and enable an inclusive, equitable, and sustainable blue economy. The U.S. Government and ORRAA will convene key stakeholders to discuss current efforts, best practices, and explore solutions for driving investment into coastal communities. Hosted by: OceanRisk Alliance (ORRAA) United States Agency for International Development (USAID) United States Department of State United States National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA)
