Details

Extreme heat and flooding are pushing millions of women across the global south further into poverty. This session will announce a new climate adaptation initiative to bring parametric microinsurance for extreme heat and flood for 150,000 women in India and Pakistan to support their livelihoods. The initiative also includes risk reduction strategies and equipment, an early warning component, and financial inclusion. Led by Climate Resilience for All, the initiative’s partners include SEWA, Khwendo Kor, and Howden Philanthropies. Swiss Re will also collaborate.
